about the magazine
Who are you?
Vitality the Magazine is an up-and-coming publication that aims to give a voice to independent and aspiring artists in the media. We feel that currently the media places too much emphasis on celebrity culture and high-end fashion, both of which are generally not accessible to the public. We care about real art created by real people - artists that we all can relate to.
How often is the magazine published?
As of now, we are a quarterly magazine. We hope to grow in the future!
What types of art does Vitality feature?
We feature music, art, literature, and fashion by aspiring or independent artists. We also have a major section on street style - we feel that what people wear out on the streets is an underrated great source of inspiration for all designers out there.
Can I submit my work to your magazine?
Absolutely! We are always looking for new talent. Just email us with your art, music, literature, or fashion at [email protected] !
Where are you located?
As of now, we operate out of New York. However, we have had submissions to our magazine from all over the world.
Is your magazine published exclusively in print?
Yes (and using recycled paper, to boot!). Is there anything more satisfying for an aspiring artist to see his or her work published on a hard copy? We don't think so! We did publish our "preview issue" online here in order to gain exposure and reach a wider audience.

Can I purchase a stock illustration, or are they all customized?
All illustrations are customized to your liking.
Who makes these illustrations?
Debbie, Vitality's editor-in-chief.
What medium are the illustrations made of?
Each illustration is made out of watercolor and ink on special, high-quality watercolor paper.
How do I order an illustration?
Contact us using the contact tab on the menu, and Debbie will talk to you shortly thereafter to get an idea of what it is that you want exactly. Once that is done, you can place your order through the store.
advertising
I am interested in placing an ad in your magazine. What steps should I take?
Email us at [email protected] for advertising rates and readership numbers. Since we are still in the baby stages of our magazine, so to speak, rates are quite low, so don't miss out on the opportunity! We love our advertisers: They help us fund this product that we truly believe in!
I am interested in sponsoring one of your events. What steps should I take?

purchases & payment
How much does the magazine cost?
Each issue is $4.00 plus shipping. Ten percent of our yearly revenue is donated to a specific nonprofit organization that supports the arts. This year, we have partnered with the Downtown Writer's Center in Syracuse, N.Y.
How much does each customized illustration cost?
A high-quality print customized illustration is $20 (and shipping is free!). If you only want a high-quality scan (perfect for web and blog design), the cost is $5 (and no shipping charges, of course).
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! Unfortunately, extra shipping charges may apply.
Can you only purchase the magazine online?
Sometime in the future, we hope to sell it at coffee shops and boutiques. At the moment, you can only purchase it online.
Can you only purchase an illustration online?
Yes. In order to create the best customized illustration possible, Debbie will have to spend some time chatting with you via email about what it is exactly that you want. For this reason, we cannot sell customized illustrations in stores. We do, however, offer customized illustrations at our music events and art festivals.
How do I know my payment is secure?
We use PayPal, one of the most trusted online payment solutions.

How long does it take you to ship a magazine order?
Once the payment is completed, the issue will be shipped within five business days.
How long does it take you to ship an illustration order?
Once the illustration is completed (which can take as little as two days or as long as a month - it depends on your order and how good you are at keeping in contact about what you wish to see!), it will be shipped within five business days. If you only ordered a scan, it will be scanned as soon as it is completed.
I am outside the United States. How long will it take me to receive my order?
Please allow between two to twelve weeks.
